Conference Smart - the Dressing Files

So the conference was attended.  The packing was successful. The outfits worked.

I took myself out during the first evening for a city wander and food.  I wore a tried and tested bronze coloured blouse, black jeggings and ankle boots. Simples!  (you need to know our meerkat adverts to understand that.)

Ironically I ended up at my own hotel bar to eat after abandoning Chinese, Indian and the chain Italians  (Zizzi, prezzos etc) as I can have that at home.  More ironically I  ordered a simple Margarita pizza but the hotel bar had a non-generic atmosphere,  and the opportunity to have a Cosmopolitan.  This bar used to be the telephone exchange and was thought to be the second in Britain.

On day 1 of the conference I wore  a navy sheath style dress in a jersey material that wouldn't crease.  I added navy tights,  my faux pearls and nautical blue and white jacket.  Yes, I did wear patent leather high heels and not these walking shoes.

After a day of listening and learning I socialised with peers and friends that I hadn't seen for a while, and yes I did go in this wind ball tunnel thingy.

And I had one of these,

and one of these.

Day 2 was a beige and black dress,  black jacket and gold coloured necklace.

I felt confident in both outfits and very glad I did the try on at home before I packed  Anyway I now know for next time too. (Bonus of blogging is that I have a record for myself.)

My Anna blog (go to my profile and you will find Anna of the Mutton Years) has more on Manchester if you are interested. Oh, ok, let's make this easy, here's the link Manchester-not-by-sea

PS sadly since writing this post Manchester has witnessed a hugely sad act.  My heart aches for the families affected.

  1. You already know how much I loved your week's outfits as posted on IG. I am now loving all those amazing glasses you have sipped from. Thank you for drinking all of those cocktails so that you could show us the glassware :-)

    1. I was pretty useless at the tunnel and seemed to draw quite a crowd. It turned out that I was the only person idiotice enough to have a go.
